The 2022-23 theme “Show Your Voice!” gives students the opportunity to express their feelings, thoughts, and ideas through creativity in the areas of film, visual arts, photography, dance, music, and literature. By participating in this program kids get recognized and celebrated among their peers, teachers, and community for their original works of art. The benefits of participation include being able to think critically, gain confidence, and develop a love of learning and artistic literacy.

“Together Again!” is a show by the Paletteers of the Palos Verdes Art Center, and features art created by our members during the past two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, when life across the globe was under threat by an unseen enemy, and we became isolated and socially distant. The past two years shone a spotlight on the injustices in our social, political, and economic systems. People experienced psychological trauma and anxiety, and families and friends were divided based on vaccination status.
“Together Again!” is a celebration of the creativity of our members and illustrates the impact that art has to uplift and spread hope and joy. We rejoice in the opportunity to gather again socially, and to share the healing power of art with the community.
Paletteers represent Contemporary/abstract as well as representational artists, primarily working in 2D. We meet on the second Tuesday of every month at the Palos Verdes Art Center, except in summer. Members attend field trips, share art through member show and tell critiques, and broaden their knowledge through artist demonstrations. Membership is based on sponsorship and jury.

An art show that showcases art made by the local community celebrating the AAPI community. The show aims to simultaneously celebrate the many diverse aspects of Asian culture and raise awareness about the recent hate crimes against the community.
Artist Bio: Audrey Lin is a rising junior at Chadwick School as well as a national gold medalist and Best-In-Grade winner in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. She has long had a connection to art in its many forms, be it visual arts or performing arts. After seeing the influx of hate crimes against the AAPI community in the news, Audrey felt a responsibility as an Asian American to take action and speak out. So, she decided to do so using what she was best at: art. Her goal is to create a space where others can do the same and contribute their unique artistic voices towards change and support the large, intrinsic AAPI community.
